In 1856, Wurlitzer officially founded The Rudolph Wurlitzer Company in Cincinnati, Ohio as a musical instrument import business. He also supplied drums and other musical instruments to the U.S. Army during the Civil War and by 1865, he had become the largest supplier of band instruments in America. Wurlitzer then made the transition from importing to manufacturing, and in 1880, Wurlitzer built and sold the first American-made Wurlitzer piano in the factory at North Tonawanda , New York. Since 1934 the first Jukeboxes left the same factory and together with the 1960 founded sub-division in Germany Wurlitzer brought all records in its 150 years business history. Until today Wurlitzer Germany is manufacturing the legendary One More Time, a true to the original of the 1946 Wurlitzer 1015.
